During the month of June, our parish choir will be focusing on singing a simple anthem each Sunday together with simple choral arrangements of our hymns. If you like to sing and have thought about singing with our parish choir, but have worried about the difficulty of the repertoire during our regular choral season, this is a perfect opportunity to try singing in our parish choir during the summer, with low pressure, summer choir camp type programming. We meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm until around 8:00 pm during June. Contact Jeffrey Hoffman, our director of music, so we can reserve a place for you. Jeffrey will be away at a professional conference on Wednesday, June 10, so there will be no choir rehearsal that evening.
During the month of July, the parish choir will be on hiatus, returning in August. Also, during the month of July, folks who are interested in offering a solo or duet or other small vocal ensemble are invited to provide the music at the offertory and/or communion each week.Â
Throughout the summer, those in the parish who play musical instruments who would like to play a prelude or voluntary after the service are also invited to participate in summer music.
Please email jeffrey@estlukes.org right away to express your interest in any or all of the above opportunities.Â
